SOCIETY 1 To Part Ways With Bassist Following 'Suspension Show'
February 3, 2004SOCIETY 1 bassist Aleister has announced that the band's much-hyped "suspension show" at L.A.'s Key Club on March 11 will be his final show with the group.
Singer Matt "The Lord" Zane had this to say: "Let me just say that the band will continue. It's unfortunate because I had high hopes for Aleister but after 8 months of touring he realized he wasn't cut out for this lifestyle. This isn't for everybody. It's not easy, especially in this band. I can't blame anybody for wanting to pursue other interests that are not so far outside mundane society. I think of our situation as being in constant opposition to so many things. The pressures can tear you down to the point of forcing you back into the masses. They need to eradicate the loose anomalies because they destroy the reality that everyone collectively believes in. I will always remain separate. We will send Aleister back into the world of the acceptable behaviors after March 11th with the best of wishes for his new life."
SOCIETY 1 are currently holding an open call to all bass players in the Los Angeles area or those willing to relocate. Anyone interested should email a picture, information and a short message about their reasons for wanting to join. Prospective individuals must be prepared to tour the U.S. and Europe and to record with SOCIETY 1. Send information to [email protected].
